Add your thoughts using the KWL approach. Thinking about Game Mechanics, Games-Based Learning or gamification.....
K = What do you know?
I know that games are engaging and appeal to a diverse range of learning styles. They are fun and interactive. There are so many different types of games out there, some are rubbish and some when used correctly can assist teaching and learning in an exciting way.
W = What do you want to learn?
I would like to know how and where to resource games, how to create a game to suit my curriculum program and how best to implement them into the classroom.
L = What have you learned? (we'll do this last one later)
I have learnt about the 12 elements of games, the possibility of turning a mundane and boring topic into something fun, and the aspects to fun.
Reflection
Add your thoughts here and also add to the KWL notes above, where appropriate.

This course has been really interesting and challenging. The two programs to implement gamification into the classroom would be Year 6 sustainability and climate change - this could be used alongside SimCity or using gamification in our road safety content with Year 3. Trouble at the moment is finding the time to strategise how to do this and then incorporating in to the curriculum program to meet our outcomes and indicators. I have learnt a lot through this course and it has definitely got me thinking outside the square!
Have you filled in the evaluation? Have you found the bonus level content?
